I promised Mom that I would be “smarter.” I spoke those words to her. They were among the last things I said to her this side of heaven.
Smarter:
– Wisdom
– Non-attachment
– Speaking less
– Listening more
– Pausing: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
I just watched Mom’s Ring video from Thursday, October 12 into Friday, October 13. Mom left sometime after 9:00 p.m. Thursday night and before 3:00 a.m. Friday morning. That was the span of time between when I retired to the recliner, just a few feet away from the hospital bed, until I woke up at 3:00 a.m. She died so quietly. And I was in her presence when her soul left. I will be eternally grateful for that privilege. What a beautiful journey we were on together.
“All perfection in this life hath some imperfection mixed with it; and no knowledge of ours is without some darkness.”
