My first day — December 1, 1992 — no drugs to alter my mind, mood or body.

“As we grow spiritually and find a Power greater than ourselves, we begin to realize that as long as our spiritual needs are met, our living problems are reduced to a point of comfort. When we forget where our real strength lies, we quickly become subject to the same patterns of thinking and action that got us to the Program in the first place.”
Step Eleven, The Basic Text (Narcotics Anonymous)

I want to say thank you to the God of my understanding for never leaving me and for scooping me up twenty-nine years ago today in answer to my cries for help.

  • Thank you ex-husband for the part you played in facilitating my getting clean. It hurt like hell at the time, but (my) God don’t waste anything!
  • Thank you Casey-Lee and Anthony for loving me … unconditionally … through it all.
  • Thanks to my immediate family for supporting me in my Recovery with out really understanding much about it.
  • And thanks to everyone in my life, at every stage of my life, who forgave me for the harm I caused.
  • Thank you NA for being there for me when I had no place else to go.

“I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
John 4:38
