As I age and experience life without Mom, my mind shifts from defining “importance.” These days, I seek value. To value others and be valued in return. Allowing for transcendence from priority, expectations, dependency and institutionalized duty to a calm security and acceptance of love flowing between two Spirits.

Something not needing monitoring; testing, or promotion. My Higher Power has become the starting point and the end game.

For this recovering person, Narcotics Anonymous is truth through and through: Freedom from active addiction and the bondage of self.

• Freedom from rushing out the door to sit in a 6’x6′ cubicle for 10 hours a day
• Freedom from fear of being alone in my own home
• Freedom from restlessness
• Freedom from double-mindedness
• Freedom from resentment, anger and fear
• Freedom from comparison
• Freedom from a perspective of lack
• Freedom from attention seeking
• Freedom from verbosity
• Freedom from dishonesty
• Freedom from having to be heard and understood
• Freedom from the need to be right.
