When was the last time I asked God… as I understand God to be… for a miracle? The need for and what constitutes a miracle is subjective, no? What would be a miracle for me might be an ordinary, every day occurrence for someone else.
For me, miracles exist. I have experienced all kind of miracles. Spiritual movements manifesting in perfectly timed shifts of internal and external realms. Usually seen in hindsight… due to the limits of my human perspectives and perceptions that are so deeply entranched in the material experiences of human life.
What I used to ask for were steps through a dead end; to have external situations removed or changed. Requests stemming from self-obsession; the trifecta of resentment, anger and fear. Asking for my wants/wishes/desires to be fulfilled. Not exactly asking for a miracle.
Come to find out that me asking for a Higher Power’s will to be done in my life is, in and of itself, its own miracle. The ability to accept reality… life on its own terms… is its own miracle. Who knew?
