Hope in recovery from addiction.
“Now, we know that the time has come when that tired old lie, “Once an addict, always an addict,” will no longer be tolerated by either society or the addict himself. We do recover.” Written in 1965 – Narcotics Anonymous “We Do Recover”
If I can get (and stay) clean, anybody can. True story.
I am grateful for that moment — that defining moment — when I asked for help. And even more thankful that I was never required to “be specific.”
I had no clue what asking for help would put into motion, let alone what it would ultimately require of me. If I had know then what I know now, belive me, I would have turned back.
